Thingus is a private conversation with one person: you. To know it’s you, we ask for a phone number and text you a short code. You can enter that code on the website, in the Thingies app, or just text it back. Once that’s done, that number is your account.

What you talk about stays in your world. That means the messages, the things Thingus remembers, the plans, and the Thingies it makes for you, whether you wrote them on the website or in iMessage. The Thingies app on your phone keeps you signed in with a cookie stored on the device.

When you send a message, we pass the relevant part of the conversation to OpenAI so it can write a reply. If Thingus makes a new Thingy, it may also ask OpenAI for one still picture to use as the cover. That picture is saved with your world. We don’t send along passwords, API keys, or the headers that authorize a request.

Phone sign-in and iMessage delivery use Linq to send and receive texts for that number. Linq sees the phone number and the message bodies needed to deliver those texts. It does not get your Google tokens or your world repository.

You can connect Gmail and Google Calendar if you want Thingus to look at them. That permission is encrypted and kept outside your world, not mixed in with your notes. Thingus won’t change your mail or calendar on its own. It asks first, with a Thingy in the thread, and waits for you to confirm. Google receives only what you authorize for those scopes.

Photos, files, and voice notes you send are stored with your world. The conversation itself only keeps the name and the size, so the thread stays readable.

A Thingy you open can ask this phone for the calendar, reminders, contacts, location, the camera, photos, the microphone, motion, or a health summary such as steps, heart rate, activity, and sleep. That happens only when you tap the control that asks, and Apple’s permission prompt is what allows it. Health numbers stay on the phone until you save them in the Thingy or tap a button that sends them to Thingus. A calendar or reminder change is that tap. A contact comes back as a name and one phone or email, and it stays on the screen unless you send it. We don’t use any of that for ads.

If Thingus remembers something wrong, or something you’d rather it forget, just say so. We don’t sell your world, and we don’t hand it to advertisers. We don’t use App Tracking Transparency tracking, and we don’t share your world with ad networks.

You can delete your account from the Thingies app or the website. In Thingies, open your library, tap Delete account, and type START OVER. That removes your world, sign-in, and recordings on this host. You can also ask Thingus in the conversation to forget something without wiping everything.

Questions or a data request: text Thingus from the phone number you signed in with, or open this page from the app and use the same thread. We respond through that conversation.
